Around tea, a broader economy has grown. Kericho town has county offices, banks, a referral hospital, the University of Kabianga nearby and a steady flow of traffic on the Nakuru–Kisumu road. Londiani and Kipkelion farm dairy, potatoes and vegetables, and Litein has become one of the busiest trading towns in the south of the county.

That mix creates very different online needs. Estates and exporters must look credible to buyers abroad. Hotels want travellers stopping between Nakuru and Kisumu to book ahead.
